Doll Arrival: LUTS Kid Delf

For so many years (well, around 5-6 years), I have always wanted a BJD of my own, and, finally, last July 28, I was able to order one from LUTS. It was my first time ordering something from an overseas company, and a costly item to boot, that I was kind of nervous and went back and forth before, finally, deciding to go with the purchase. It was very nerve-wrecking, but, I think it was worth it in the end.

Anyway, I ordered a Kid Delf Jamong Human Ver. from there Moonlit Song series, and a pair of sneakers and a dress for her. I ordered her in Normal Skin, with face-up included, though, I didn’t buy her stock outfit, seeing as I didn’t see any need for it, nor do I really see it as something as my doll would frequently wear, so yeah.

From July 28, the waiting started, and, on September 12, I finally asked them about the status of my order. They told me that it’d probably take till the end of October till they would be able to ship my order.

However, on September 23, I received an email from them containing my tracking number. My package was being shipped already.

I received the EMS claiming card on September 28, although, I think even without the claiming card, you can already get your package in customs, provided that you have a copy of your tracking number (I also brought a copy of the photo shown above stating that the package has already been brought to customs). I tried to get the package on the 27th, although, because it was Saturday, apparently, there weren’t any examiners around, so they couldn’t release the package.

I wasn’t able to take a photo of the back part. But, on the back’s a list of the things you have to bring there if you’re going to claim it yourself, and on the case that you would have someone else claim it for you.

Anyway, my mom was the one who claimed my package for me, seeing as I had classes on Mondays and I couldn’t get away without skipping any of them. Shown above is the receipt from Customs (Pasay Post Office). I wasn’t charged with a huge tax, so I have to say that I’m quite happy. xD

Daily Prompt: We Can Be Taught!

It’s been a while since I have last posted on here, but, seeing as school has started yet again for me, I’m trying to spend my time wisely. Well, I have to say that I’m sort-of failing, what with the fact that I’m spending more time watching anime and looking at photos of figures and dolls. Aha, anyways, on to the prompt.

What makes a great teacher? For me, I think a great teacher is someone who’s very enthusiastic with what he’s teaching, a person who loves the things he is teaching, and wants to share it with his students. Through the years I’ve been in school, I think I met several teachers who really do have the passion for the subject that they are teaching.

The greatest teachers I have ever have in my whole life, at least so far, would be my parents. Sure, sometimes they can be totally hard to understand, but, in the end, I always know that the things they do, the ‘lessons’ that they give me are all for my own good.

Readings, readings everywhere.

Now that I’m in college, I think that this is how professors prefer to teach. The give a whole bunch of readings. Some expect you to learn on your own, while some discuss it thoroughly. I believe that I prefer the latter, really.

Anyways, I’m at a loss of what to say so I’m going to end this post here.

Daily Prompt: Toy Story

Though I might already be considered as an adult, well, a young adult at that, for some reason, I have never really grown out of my fascination for toys. As a child, my mother would, most of the time, buy me dolls and other such toys that I like. I used to have a lot of Barbies, and, I also had board games, card games, and other electronic gadgets like the Nintendo GameBoy, SP, DS. However, fast forward to, well, now, I find that I still enjoy playing with dolls. Well, I do like giving them their own personalities and whatnot, and they’re really good subjects to take photos of.

These are two of my dolls. I still buy Barbie stuff though, but, I only buy barbie clothes.

Most of the time, when I’m at a loss of what to do, or if I have enough of studying, I end up just taking photos of them instead.

I don’t think that I’ll stop ‘playing’ with dolls anytime soon. In fact, I’ll probably end up with more dolls in the near future. Well, speaking of toys, I still have some Nendoroids on the way, and even a 1/8 figure. So.. Up till now, toys are something that excites me, and though it sounds somewhat idiotic, for me, it makes life worth living, at least in its own way.

For some reason, this challenge somehow piqued my curiosity, and so, I tried taking photos of things with this in mind. I’ve been thinking about what to post since yesterday, and, finally, I have decided as to what to post for this challenge.

A Heavy Sigh of Relief

 

Well, I suppose this is going to be my first ~legit~ post, and the only thing that I really want to say is that.. Well, my hard work studying for my last exam for my Introduction to Philosophy course paid off. I got a good mark for the subject, and finally, I’m a dean’s lister this term. Not first, but, at least it’s something!

 

Next term, which starts tomorrow for us, I’m going to try and aim higher. I have to admit, I had such promises before as well, but I never seem to get around to actually achieving ‘better’ grades, seeing as I keep on fooling around watching anime and such. Hm. The internet really is a double-edged sword. Well. Time to work harder! ヾ（*⌒ヮ⌒*）ゞ

Daily Prompt: Luxurious

One of the many luxuries that I think that I cannot live without for long periods of time would be the internet. After all, in this day and age, the internet seems to be the main source of.. well, everything, really. And, as a university student, I know just how important the internet is when it comes to communicating with others, especially with fellow students, with the group works and various other assignments given out to us. And of course, it helps out with homeworks and papers as well, what with knowledge being easily available now, you don’t  need to go to a far-flung place. That does not mean to say that libraries and museums aren’t important; it’s just that with the internet and its various functions, it makes the chores that used to be hard, easier and whatnot.

I don’t exactly know how to picture the internet – and I instantly thought of my router, after all, it’s the one that gives off the signals and all that. Though, my internet connection might not be fast, at least it works! Anyways, without it, I wouldn’t be able to access sites like these, Tumblr, Goodreads, and other such sites.

With the internet, one can buy various things online, and through it, I even made friends from different parts of the world. Also, I, for one, use it to stream anime and read manga as well, and I see that as a huge plus.
